General Description - From this page, you may negotiate with coaches. You may only reach this page by clicking 'Negotiate' on the Coach Hiring page. Please keep in mind that you may only have three negotiations out for each level and role combination.
Budget Information - This will capture your current budget status, helping you make decisions about coaches. The Coaching Staff Budget figure represents the amount that you have allocated to your coaching staff for the current season. Total Allocated from Signed Coaches represents the amount that has already been agreed to by coaches during negotiations. The Required Minimum Remaining refers to the amount that would need to be spent to hire coaches at open coaching positions for the minimum salary for that position and level. These minimums are displayed at the bottom of the page. Additional After Minimum is the amount from the coaching budget on top of the minimum that can spent on open coaching positions. For instance, if $20 million is allocated to coaches in the budget and no coaches have been signed, the Required Minimum Remaining will be $5,495,000 and the Additional After Minimum will be $14,505,000.
Coach Information - The middle of the page includes the player's information including a link to his picture, coach profile and all of his status info.
Negotiations History - This will return the results from previous negotiations and offers. You will know whether the coach is considering your offer or if he has rejected it. If a coach rejects an offer, he will never sign that contract, but you may offer him another contract without penalty. This will also show the coaches previous season's salary and position as well as his current demands.
Contract Demands - These are the contract demands of the coach for this season. They are a good starting point for free agency. Generally, coaches will sign for their demands, but the coaching market will dictate the player's true worth.
Type - This refers to the type of coach at the desired level. Only the ML has Bullpen, Fielding, Third Base and First Base coaches. Most coaches would prefer to coach at this position, but may take an upgrade from a specialized position like pitching or hitting to a more generalized position like bench coach at the desired level. Please select a Type from the dropdown menu.
Level - This refers to the Major or Minor League level at which you would like the coach to work. Coaches generally only want to coach at their requested level or higher regardless of the money. Please select a Level from the dropdown menu.
Amount - You may offer a coach anywhere from the minimum annual salary for that position up to the Additional After Minimum remaining figure plus the minimum salary for that position. For instance, someone with a $20 million budget and no coaches signed could offer a big league bench coach any amount from $600k to $15,105,000. Please enter an amount and click 'Submit Offer.' After your offer is submitted, it will be reviewed and responded to by the player by the end of the negotiations cycle. To go back to the available coaches page, please click 'Return to Hiring.'
